Contest Rules

All photos must be original work taken by the entrants. No third party may own or control any materials the photo contains, and the photo must not infringe upon the trademark, copyright, moral rights, intellectual rights, or rights of privacy of any entity or person.

All photos must have been taken within the "Greater Delta Area" as defined as Rio Vista, Isleton, Walnut Grove, Ryde and Locke. 

Entries will not be accepted unless submitted via the official contest channel before December 31st, 2021.

By entering the Contest, entrants agree that Rio Vista Beacon can use photos submitted for advertising purposes. The winners will be contacted via the email address provided during entry. If no response is received after three business days, a new winner will be selected, and the previous winner will forfeit all rights to the prize.

The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law.

Voting

Entries will be judged by community voting. An individual may vote once per day, per category. Using multiple email addresses to circumvent this rule is grounds for being banned from voting.

All decisions are final. Rio Vista Beacon reserves the right to disqualify any entry that appears to be is deemed inappropriate or does not conform to stated contest rules.

Bracket 1: Best Category Photo

November 17th 2021 - December 31st 2021

The initial bracket will allow nominations and voting across various categories. The finalists in each category will be determined by their placing as of midnight on December 31st.

• 1st place: Finalist will be recognized in the Rio Vista Beacon and move on to Bracket 2.
• 2nd place: Finalist will be recognized in the Rio Vista Beacon.
• 3rd place: Finalist will be recognized in the Rio Vista Beacon.

Bracket 2: Best Overall Photo

January 1st 2022 - January 12th 2022

The 1st place finalists from the prior bracket will be able to advance to the next bracket and compete for the title of "Best Greater Delta Photo". Votes will be reset to at the beginning of the bracket. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be determined by their placing as of midnight on January 12th.

• 1st place: Finalist will be recognized in the Rio Vista Beacon and receive $100 gift certificate.
• 2nd place: Finalist will be recognized in the Rio Vista Beacon and receive $75 gift certificate.
• 3rd place: Finalist will be recognized in the Rio Vista Beacon and receive $50 gift certificate.
